The Plagiarism in the university
The plagiarism means that someone copies other’s work for your own. It may with or without consent, but it’s without full acknowledgment. All published and unpublished material, whether in manuscript, printed or electronic form, is considered plagiarism. Sometimes, the professor believes that the plagiarism of students is because of the uneducated of plagiarism. Sometimes they don’t even understand they are doing the plagiarism. So many professors like to have a speech with their students at the beginning of the semester. The UC Berkeley has a policy that“There be a significant departure from accepted practices of the relevant research community; The misconduct be committed intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly; The allegation be proven by a preponderance of the evidence. ” The professor will give you an F in this grade. Plagiarism standards are not relaxed in an astronomy or other science courses as compared to, for instance, history or literature courses; and lecture materials and course textbooks may usually be referenced, though not quoted, in assignments for that course without citation.
